Kikowaena means "center of the circle" in Hawaiian. What an appropriate phrase to describe the beauty that hooping has brought into my life. We are building a movement and building a brand here in Honolulu, so hopefully you will start seeing more hooping on Oahu! This blog was made to promote our hooping, but also to spread beautiful photos and videos of other hoopers around the world.
A short video of my new Synth hoop from LED Artistry… I am in LOVE!
I am beginning a 30/30 challenge with my hooping for the new year. I know I am a great hooper, but with all the new tutorials and inspiration, and committing to hooping every day for 30 minutes, I know I can take my skills to the next level. Up next, this tutorial from Zach and Marria.
We had our Waikiki hoop jam again today, and I was working on my escalator! I watched this tutorial, and it was just what I needed to make the connection. I was having trouble with the full escalator, and this video showed me that I needed to use my opposite arm as a pivot point for the hoop. I got the down, and I almost the back up really smooth! Thanks Jo Mondy!
Lacey took a video of my performance at RAW: Ensemble in Honolulu at Vice Nightclub, Sept 14, 2012. This was my first mainstream performance, and everyone was really receptive!
I made a promo video to put on my RAW Artists page. I need someone with real video skills to help me out, I did this all myself. It turned out great for what it is, but I think I need to take it to the next level in some way.
