Kikowaena - Hooping in Paradise

Kikowaena means "center of the circle" in Hawaiian. What an appropriate phrase to describe the beauty that hooping has brought into my life. We are building a movement and building a brand here in Honolulu, so hopefully you will start seeing more hooping on Oahu! This blog was made to promote our hooping, but also to spread beautiful photos and videos of other hoopers around the world.

This is what I’m rolling with these days. Collapsible green polypro, taped Pricebusters hoops, and teal polypro minis with Pele fire wicks attached. I’m lovin the color scheme, its appropriate for how much hooping on the beach that I do.

Bambi posted a tutorial of a sweet combo move of tricks. If SHE can only do it 10% of the time, I highly doubt I will be getting this down, but its worth a try.

I finally made myself a second HDPE hoop so I guess it’s time to start working the twins… I got a lot of the poi stuff down, but I want to start learning hooping on my body with two hoops. I wish for days without monsoon rain or hurricane winds so I can actually get some practice in.

EDIT: This is Christy. They’re both amazing hoopers from PA, but I think now I got it right.
Her name is AmaraZingara if I’m not mistaken. I’ve seen here on HoopCity. I think she’s from PA
