Kikowaena - Hooping in Paradise

Kikowaena means "center of the circle" in Hawaiian. What an appropriate phrase to describe the beauty that hooping has brought into my life. We are building a movement and building a brand here in Honolulu, so hopefully you will start seeing more hooping on Oahu! This blog was made to promote our hooping, but also to spread beautiful photos and videos of other hoopers around the world.

Three years ago today, I was seeing the Dead at Rothbury. The night before, I saw Shakti Sunfire perform with her double LEDs, and I knew I had to get serious about hooping. So I think of July 4th as my hoopiversary. This picture of me and my lovely hoop mama, JessB. This is a month later, we were hoopin it up outside our motel before heading off to Phish. Much love this girl for taking me under her wing and teaching me all her tricks. Love you Jess!
