Kikowaena means "center of the circle" in Hawaiian. What an appropriate phrase to describe the beauty that hooping has brought into my life. We are building a movement and building a brand here in Honolulu, so hopefully you will start seeing more hooping on Oahu! This blog was made to promote our hooping, but also to spread beautiful photos and videos of other hoopers around the world.
This is my hooping with my LED at the Caldera Stage the first night of String Cheese Incident at Horning’s Hideout 2010. I love this photo because you can see the cat ears I was wearing on my head. It was the beginning of one of the best weekends evarrr!
After my String Cheese jaunt across the west this summer, I packed up my life in Madison, Wisconsin and moved back to Oahu. Unfortunately, hula hooping is not huge on Oahu… but I am going to help change that! I started this blog so that there can be a go-to resource for all things hooping related in Honolulu.
I will likely post hooping videos and pictures in addition to event information where hooping will be happening. I have recently met some great girls on the island, so hopefully in the future, there will be information about our upcoming performances!
